NMAMLD 2026 welcomes paper submissions from all areas of Computational Mechanics and is not limited to nonlocal approaches.

Welcome to NMAMLD Conference 2026

NMAMLD 2026 is an international conference on Nonlocal Mechanics Approaches for Modelling Localized Deformations, hosted by the Department of Civil Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IIT Hyderabad), from 14–16 December 2026.

The conference will bring together leading researchers, academicians, scientists, and industry professionals from around the world working in the broad fields of mechanics, modelling, and simulation. It aims to provide a premier forum for the exchange of recent advances, emerging ideas, and future research directions in the modelling of localized deformation phenomena across diverse engineering materials and structures.

The conference will feature dedicated special-interest technical tracks covering a wide range of topics, including nonlocal mechanics, gradient-enhanced formulations, phase-field methods, multiscale modelling, fracture and damage mechanics, high strain-rate behaviour, fatigue, coupled multiphysics, and experimental validation. Contributions addressing quasi-static, dynamic, and cyclic loading, as well as computational, theoretical, and experimental approaches, are particularly encouraged.

Building on the success of the 2020 and 2022 editions, which collectively attracted over 150 delegates from more than 16 countries, the third edition of NMAMLD 2026 will continue to serve as a premier international forum for advancing research in the modelling of localized deformation. The conference will place particular emphasis on fatigue, fracture, damage mechanics, and high strain-rate behaviour of engineering materials and structures, while highlighting recent developments in nonlocal and multiscale modelling approaches, computational methods, and experimental validation.
