About IIT Hyderabad

IIT Hyderabad is one of the second-generation IITs established by the Government of India. Today, IITH offers a diverse range of academic programs, including 11 B. Tech programs, 1 B.Des Program, 3 M.Sc programs, 18 M. Tech programs, 1 M.Des program, 1 MA Program, and 15 Ph.D. programs across all branches of engineering, science, liberal arts, and design. In addition, IIT Hyderabad provides a 2-year M. Tech Program to foreign nationals in 9 different departments. The foundation of IIT Hyderabad is rooted in research and innovation, which is reflected in its impressive number of patents and publications. At IITH, students are presented with a plethora of choices that they carefully select with the guidance of a faculty advisor. Traditional semester-long courses are evolving at IITH, as since the 2014-2015 academic year, all B. Tech programs have introduced courses with smaller credits, known as fractal academics, designed to sustain student enthusiasm and keep them aligned with cutting-edge developments from the 1st semester through to the 8th semester.
